Highlighting the archive is his Journal spanning the last two years of the War (May 1863-October 1865). 1/4 leather with marbled boards. Worn all over with losses to leather and paper. Front cover detatched, rear holding. Spine quite worn but "Record" still visible. Contents complete. Unpaginated. A detailed, fascinating account of the last two years of the War and his role in it. Comes with a complete transcription on six yellow lined pads. The archive includes several partially printed documents concerning Reports of the Sick for the USS Chillicothe for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 1864. Also, a fascinating letter from a friend "McKay" aboard the USS General Price off Cairo (LA) containing several events on board. "All hands sends there bes respects to you and wishes you were back on the old Price again". Also four ms "Returns of Medicine, Stores..." for the quarters ending Sept.and Dec. 1863. Others. Two Ledger/Day books kept by Osgood prior to the War (ca.1855-6) similarly bound in paste paper covers 8 1/2"x13 1/2". A late 19th century photo of Dr. Osgood and his Wife 8"x10".
