Sailor-made box inlaid wood compass rose, stars and geometric designs. Inlaid brass corner straps as well as circles around the lock. with fitted interior complete with etched brass hinges. Wood looks like high quality mahogany. New England, 19th century.Two pieces of inlay missing from the star in the center of the top. Minor othr losses. L16-3/8" D 9-3/8" H 5-1/2.
