Tavern table with oval top, splayed legs and scalloped apron. Portsmouth, NH, mid 18th century. Birch wood. Black over gray over red paint. Paint removed to reveal vestiges of original red paint. Top applied with original pegs and historic reinforcement with pegs, screws and nails. Central batten under top is original. The two outer battens are old additions. H 23" Top 31-1/2" x 19-3/4".
