Antique carved walnut owl shelf clock, c. late 19th century. Whimsically chip-carved with glass eyes, the owl carries the expression I often wear when I check the time and find I'm running late. The clock is framed in brass with an embossed patent mark reading Pat. May 10 59 and the mechanism can be accessed by removed screws around the interior of the frame. Access to the face is granted with a hinged glass door, the hands are blued steel, and the clock dial is paper and reads Patent Lever Escapement. Antique clock key included. Found in New Hampshire. Measurements 12 " high, 5.5" wide. Base 6" diameter. Condition: Excellent aesthetic condition. The clock has been serviced, is currently working, and comes with winding key, but due to the sensitive nature of clocks in shipment it is sold as is.US Shipping $25 insured Courtesy Old As Adam Antiques oldasadam.com
