William Carlos Williams (1883-1963) Poet/Physician A collection of 4 typed letters and 1 typed poem. The 4 typed letters are all addressed to Gertrude Boyle, a sculptor. The letters are undated in terms of year, but all seem to be written in the October/November period. The content is lovely with much about modern art and specifically some expert criticism (mixed with praise) of her work. Signed variously in ink or crayon. H 11" W 8-1/2". Condition: Three are on his letterhead, in very good condition, with folds and minor stains (1 with two paperclip stains). The fourth, on plain paper is torn along the middle fold and crudely taped, with chips and loss. The bold crayon signature is unharmed. The typed undated poem is inscribed to Thomas Edward Francis and entitled To A Woodpecker. 15 lines of poetry, signed in a very shaky hand. H 11" W 8-1/2"". Condition: Excellent condition.
