A fine collection of Civil War documents from 1861 - 1922. Highlighting the collection is a manuscript map in a contemporary hand showing a "Map of the route marched by 5th Regt P.R.v.C.(?) Starts in Falls Church June 23, 1863. Arrives in Gettysburg "Battle fought" July 1-2-3-1863. Manasses Gap "Battle fought" and ends at FayettvilleAug. 4, 1863. Map is H 12-1/4" W 7-3/4". 1861 ALS by James Lesley Jr, Chief Clerk of the War Dept. accepting an offer for a Light Artillery Company from Long Island, NY. "provided you have it ready for marching orders in thirty days." Muster-In-Roll C.O. Johnson,Surgeon, April 1864. 1862 Promotion document for Edward Buchwalter to 4th Sergeant, Ohio Volunteers, signed by Col. John Cradlebaugh. (2)1862 Return of Deceased Soldiers, Light Company G, 1st NY Artillery. One for March, 1862 and one for June, 1862. All deaths are due to typhoid fever. 1864 printed Invoice sheets for Medicines, Medical Supplies, etc. Request for payment for Capt. James Stevens 55th Ohio, and for his colored man servant David Lowe for May and June, 1862. 1864 Invoice for Ordinance and Stores, 20th Regt. Conn. Vols., names Capt. John Doolittle and Lt. Col. Philo Buckingham. Discharge paper for John McCullough fireman, late of the USS Home (ship in full sail), dated April 20, 1865. Documents dated 1898 -1922 for war veterans. Includes one photo of J. P. Texido of Seaport NY., and documents regarding his pension. One photo of the U.S. Sanitary Commission ca. 1865-70 by Taylor and Huntington, Hartford, Conn.
