Collection of twenty-six 19th century photographs from Iowa to Washington Territory. One from Charles City, Iowa (A. Johns, Boots & Shoes). Twelve mounted albumen photos of the Colorado Rockies, 1881. Two from Salt lake City, Utah. 1881. Three from New Mexico (all are from Colorado photographers). Three early 20th century snapshots of the San Jose Nursing Home, El Paso, Texas. Two mounted photos from JN Choate, Carlisle, PA of three "puelos from New Mexico, after three years' training at the Indian School, Carlisle, Pa." (Before and after shots). One derogatory photo of a nursing Native American mother and child from Arizona. (California photographer). One ca. 1900 oblong photo of the U.S. Naval Convalescent Hospital Annex, Santa Cruz, Cal.  One fine mounted albumen photograph of the wharf at the end of the Northern Pacific Railroad, Tacoma, Washington Territory.

Smallest: H 3-1/4" W 5-3/4".

Largest: H 5-1/8" W 8-3/8".

Condition: Several tears/chips to the Rockies photos. Some discoloration. They are mounted on brittle paper, and have not been well protected. Still, great images. Others show normal aging, soiling, toning are are in very good condition.

New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping. 
All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items.  Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.   
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.

All purchases must be picked up from our location within 14 days, no exceptions. Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.

 


Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
