Three folk art portraits of the Hatch sisters. Attributed to George Hartwell. Maine, circa 1840. Oil on artist board. Period, possibly original frames. Inspected under UV light. Scant retouch. See images under UV light. Mary and Sarah Hatch, Frame size H 17-3/8" W 13-3/8". Panel size H 14" W 10". Third unidentified sister, frame size H17-3/4" W 14-1/4". Panel size H 14" W 10". Two frames are old, possibly original. The third frame has questionable age. All frames appear to have been painted at the same time in the 20th century to match.
