Solon Francis Montecello Badger (1873 -1919). Portrait of the three-masted staysail schooner, 'Helena'. Oil on canvas. Signed verso. Helena was built in Bath, Maine in 1900 for Captain Charles Hodgkins. It was wrecked at Humarock Beach, Sciuate, Massachusetts. This painting was commissioned by Captain Hodgkins. Condition: Excellent original condition. No restoration. Original frame. Frame: H 28-3/4" W 42-3/4". Sight: H 22" W 36".
