Rockwell Kent (1882-1971) American Artist and Adventurer. 1 original small pen and ink drawing, and two woodblock prints: "Statues by Tom Thumtack [sic]" and "Christmas Greeting". 1. Pen and Ink illustration of a two-masted ship surrounded by icebergs. Done on paper and mounted to artist board. Stamp on back says, "The Original Drawing Remains The Property Of Rockwell Kent, Ausable Forks, N.Y., And Must Be Returned To Him." His stamp appears on the front, bottom right along with page 6 in ms. Size: H 7-1/8" W 9". Illus. is H 4-3/4" 6". Condition: Excellent Condition, with only minor soiling 2. Statues by Tom Thumtack [sic]. Relates to Kent's first illustrated book, published in 1914. Woodblock print on paper and mounted to artist board, with his stamp, bottom right. Size: H 6" W 5" overall. Illus. is H 4" W 3-3/8". Condition: Illus. is excellent. There is a drip-like stain in the right margin, but it does not appear to be in the illus. 3. A woodblock print, unsigned, on very thin (and now fragile) blue-green paper and black ink. It appears to be an over-sized gift tag, with "Christmas Greetings" at the top, with a a gaff-rigged sloop and some waves in the center, and "From" under and to the left of the ship. The right margin is trimmed close. Size: H 7-1/2" W 7-1/4". Condition: Chips on edges with loss. Tears, at edges and internal (largest is about 1-3/4"). The paper is extremely thin and of poor quality. Housed in a plastic sheet. A Western Union Telegram from Kent to The Gropper Gallery, 40 Brattle Street, Cambridge, Mass. January 23, 1956. "Please insure eighteen paintings ten thousand dollars See you Sunday afternoon Rockwell Kent" Fine condition.
