Jose Formoso Reyes (1902-1980). Rare privately commissioned Nantucket basket with 3 carved applied carved ebony whales. Whales are carved to conform to the shape of the basket and attached with small brass screws. Signed on the base. Condition: Excellent original condition. One small break.
