Rare Nantucket knuckle arm Windsor armchair. Attributed to Charles Chase. Nantucket, Massachusetts, late 18th century. A similar chair is illustrated in, "The Windsor Chair" by Charles Santore.
Condition: As found condition. 19th century front right leg replacement. Old front and back leg supports removed. Old make-do repair to one leg where it penetrates the underside of the seat. One loose spindle. 19th century black paint over mustard.
H 42" H (seat) 16" W 26-1/2" D 24".
