Portrait of a gentleman. Signed Jerome and dated 1867.
Attributed to Elizabeth Gilbert Jerome (1824-1910) born in New Haven, CT. After marrying she moved to Hartford, CT where she lived near Frederick Church. Between 1866 and 1875 Jerome exhibited at the National Academy, and was recognized as a portrait artist.Oil on wood panel. Period gold leaf frame. Condition: Excellent original condition.
