Pair of transitional William and Mary/Queen Anne side chairs. Maple and ash with unusual scrolled crests and boldly turned legs. New London County, Connecticut. Circa 1740. Provenance: Nathan Liverant and Son Antiques. H 45-1/4" W 19-1/2". Seat: H 17-1/4". Condition: Excellent original condition. Black paint removed decades ago revealing a beautiful nut brown patina.
