Painted box with original putty paint and carved hearts and circles. Circa 1840. Old leather hinges. W 12", H 6-3/4", D 6-1/2". Together with a small very fine early covered splint basket with woven green design. Diam 5" H 2-5/8". Basket appears to have been made with only one handle. Both in excellent original condition.
