Nine oval painted boxes. American, 19th century. Mostly copper nail and peg construction. Size largest to smallest; green box L 6-3/4" W 4-1/8" H1-7/8". Blue L 5" W 4-3/8" H 1-1/2". Black L 4-7/8" W 3-5/8" H 1-3/8". Sage green L 4-3/4" W 3-1/2" H 1-5/8". Deep indigo blue L 4-5/8" W 3-1/2" H 1-5/8". Putty L 4-1/8" W 3-1/4" H 1-1/2" (tight crack approx 2" ,chip in bottom). Black impressed on lid I. Whiton. L 4-1/8" W 3" H 1-7/16". Blue L 4-1/8" W 2-1/2" H 1-3/4" (tight 1-1/2" crack edge band). Lipstick red L 3-1/16" W 2-5/16" H 1-1/4" (minor loss to small area of edge band). All boxes are 19th century in original paint. Imperfections are minor.
