Miniature portrait of a lady by Ruth Whittier Shute. New England, circa 1830. Paper size H 4-5/8" W 3-3/4". Period yellow painted frame. The lady in yellow was cut and applied to paper. We believe that this is original to the piece. Aging is consistent between the paper and woman including horizontal discoloration line along the bottom.
