Needlework sampler wrought by Mary J Ellerbe, 1852. Cherwa, South Carolina A simple geometric border surrounds eight lines of alphabets, with simple geometric dividers between each line. At the bottom left is stitched the first line of the hymn America: "My Country 'Tis of Thee..." At the bottom right is Mary J's information. At the bottom center is an America eagle clutching a banner in it's beak that says "Independence", and is surrounded by 32 stars. Includes four folders of genealogical information. Frame: H 19-3/4" W 21-3/4". Sight: H 17-1/4" W 18-7/8". Condition: Professionally framed. In near excellent condition with just a few tiny repairs. Collection of Ann Fassnacht.
