Large decorated pine slide-lid candlebox. The raised panel lid decorated with red, black and yellow hex signs and trailing vine border on a red ground, over a box with abstracted anthropomorphic imagery on a salmon and yellow ground. Inscribed on bottom of lid "Harry F. Augley". Pennsylvania, circa 1780. L 18-1/4" W 10" H 6". Condition: Inspected under UV light. Original condition. Provenance: Koch Collection.
