Over 150 small and medium sized flags, mostly on sticks, and mostly American with 48 stars. Mostly printed on starched linen for stiffness, some are cloth, and one silk. Also includes an American flag envelope containing a letter from a Spanish American soldier, John, to his sister, Phebe, dated 1898. 

Star count on flags as follows: 50 stars (2), 48 stars (106), 46 stars (10), 45 stars (3), 44 stars (1), 42 stars (9, all paper), 36 stars (1), 29 stars (1), 13 stars (27), 7 stars (3).

Additional flags include: small bow-tie flag pins (7), old slate pencils wrapped in red, white, and blue paper (7), original box of sparklers (5 left), white fields and blue cantons with red cross center (2), metal flag themed 'clickers' (2), Union Jack flag (1), antique paper kite by Crunden Mfg. St. Louis, MO, 'The Red White and Blue' (1), collapsable paper flag lantern (1), small flag box with 4 slate pencils (1), stamped two piece metal pig (1), and some stamped metal buttons.

Sizes range from H 1-3/4" W 2" up to H 15" W 21".

Condition: Mostly in good collectible condition. Some flags are worn/frayed. Some sticks are broken, some are missing. Extra sticks are included. Some sticks have finials, most do not. Extra finials are included.

Arrangement and costs of shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. 
New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping. 
All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items.  Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.   
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.

All purchases must be picked up from our location within 14 days, no exceptions. Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.

 


Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
