Important outsider art discovery. Vintage outsider baseball player figures. Approx 330 figurers, plus 2 bats and ball. 2nd quarter of the 20th century. There is hand made currency tucked behind many players. This was most likely conceived as a wagering game. Each figure constructed of shirt cardboard, nailed to a wood block. Nails are carefully placed to emulate shoes. Clothing and features drawn with graphite and colored pencils. Most have the name of the player or position inscribed on the backs.
