A group of 23 early American books to include travel, children's, miniatures. To include: New Travels in the United State by De Warville. New York. 1792. Full "tree" leather with red spine label. Also, The Economy of Human Life...by the EARL of *******. Norwich: [CT] Printed and Sold by John Trumbull, 1795. Half leather with marbled paper over wooden boards. Some wood and paper loss. 4 volumes of children's books from the 1820's ad 1830's with leather spines and marbled paper covers. All in very good condition. An early edition of Mother Goose's Melodies. Incomplete, and tatters at beginning and end. Great wood-cut illustrations throughout. Partial back cover reads "Monroe & Francis' Juven...Washington Stree..." Probably Boston 1820's. Five tiny chapbooks from 1809-1832, includes one of manuscript music and text. Five miniature numbers of The Nursery Library by G Routledge. Some incomplete. One small diary sized book dated Nov 1846, with manuscript information some diary entries, some family records. Seems to be Shaker related."Signed the Temperance Pledge February 21, 1848." Two copies of Bijou Bible Pictures from Philadelphia, ca. 1843. Tiny books (1 in. x 1 in.) Complete. One copy of Daily Food for Christians (a popular 19th century book often in miniature form). This is the First American edition, Boston: Perkins and Marvin 1830. Complete, but binding is weak. H 2-3/4 in. One slightly tattered but complete copy of Odd Minutes with The Imitation of Christ (abridged). New York. H 3 in. W 1 in. A small silk covered blank book owned by Eunice Carew May 9th, 1791 Presented by her friend Joseph Huntington. Mostly blank pages, but in the middle are two pages on heavy stock imprinted with the days of the week. Excellent condition. H 4 in. Range of heights of miniature book: 1 in. - 3-1/8 in.

All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items. Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.

All purchases must be picked up from our location within 14 days, no exceptions. Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.
Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
