Giò Pomodoro (1930-2002), avant-garde silver necklace. Signed and dated '97. Pendant includes a pin-back to also be worn as a brooch.

From his first jewelry items in the 1950s, with which he took part at the Venice Bienniele in 1956, Giò Pomodoro has been associated with the avant-garde community in Milan. His jewelry is considered small pieces of art. Giò participated in prestigious exhibitions, including the International Exhibition of Modern Jewellery 1890-1960 held in London, England. He also garnered displays of his pieces in the United States at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas, and the Salas de Exposiciones del Ateneo in Madrid, Spain. As this piece is dated '97 it is uniquely situated to reflect his style towards the end of his career.

Pendant: H 2-3/4 in. W 1-1/2 in.

0.78 ozt.
