4 scarce early American/German imprints:1) Westlicher Calender. Calender fur 1821. Pittsburg...Gruensburg printed by Jacob S. Stect. An almanac printed in 1820 for the ensuing year. Great full page woodcut illustration on the front cover. Printed title page follows.H 8" W 6-1/2" Complete. Corners clipped, not affecting text. Age darkened. 2) Calender fur Bauern und Handwerter...1837...Carl F. Egelmann. Philadelphia...[1836]. Complete. Woodcut vingettes at the top of each month. Full page woodcut title page and printed title. Home made paper covers with owner added decoration and info on the front, and pasted notes on the inside. At the end, there is a story with a woodcut illustration about a dog who saves someone who was in a shipwreck.H 8-1/4" W 6-3/4"Wear, stains, some tears and folds as expected from age and use.3) and 4) comprise 2 copies of "Das fleine ABC=Buch...Bon Ambrosius Hentel. Zweite Auslage. Neu-Market, Schenandoah Caunty, Virginia...1819. 36 pp. Both books are similarly bound in 1/4 cloth with paper covers covered in woodcut illustrations. These are wonderful, early Primers with Alphabets, simple woodcuts, basic words for young learners. H 5-1/2" W 3-3/8". Collection of Laura Adams. One with wear and loss to spine. No end sheets. Arrangement and costs of shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. 
New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping. 
All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items.  Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.   
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash. 

To help expedite shipping, lots will be released to Village Express after payment has cleared. If you wish to use an alternate shipper, please send an email immediately. You will be required to fill out the NEA shipping release form before the release of your items.

Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 24 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions. Items not picked up within 30 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
