Diminutive paint-decorated box. American, circa 1850.Early red with yellow and green fanciful decoration over earlier blue and black paint. Fine surface. Square nail construction. Old crack along the back edge of the top. Inspected under UV light, no restoration noted. H 3-3/8" W 6" D 3-1/2".
