Needlework sampler wrought by Emma Powers, 9 years old, September 15th 1809. Alphabet at the top. Twelve line religious poem at center, flanked by two floral arrangements. Three story house, a willow tree and "Lincoln Street" (their address in Boston) on a saw-toothed border. Under this is Emma's information. The whole is surrounded by a geometrical and line border. Included are several folders of genealogical information. Also includes a rare photo of Emma ca. 1860, in a gilt frame (H 13-1/4" W 10" D 2"). In 1831, Emma was married to Mr. Chamberlain. She died August 5, 1868. A rarity to have the photo of the maker. Frame: H 19" W 14-3/4". Sight: H 16-3/4" W 12-3/8". Condition: Professionally framed. Excellent condition.
