Elizabeth C. Hunnerman's sewing box. Probably Connecticut, circa 1830. Constructed of cherrywood veneer with finely painted formal decoration. Bone escutcheon with gilded brass mounted feet. Wallpaper and gold ribbon interior probably original. Outstanding condition. Very small 3" repair to separation in the veneer at back right. Veneer slightly lifting on right side of the top. H4-1/2" L 11-7/8" W 7-1/2"
