Early needlework on silk depicting a village scene with ox, horses, swans and two children flying a kite. Probably English, early 19th century. Frame: H 11-1/2" W 16" Sight: H 8-1/2" W 13" Condition: Staining throughout needlework. Areas of silk loss located in the LRC between swans approx L 1-1/4",LR between the swan and girl by ox approx H 1/4", LL approx H 3/8", between the second and third tree from the L approx 1/4" and the ULC approx H 5/8". There is a break in the silk measuring approx H 2" next to the foliage in the ULC. There are other small vertical breaks following the weave and other small losses throughout the silk. There are a few broken threads in the fence area. Possibly some thread loss from the tip of the branch closest to the edge in the ULC.
