Early Folk Art Paining of Horse "Colonel" in pasture landscape. Circa 1870. Signed "Colonel" by Chas Austin. H 33", W 49". Provenance; Mary Lyon Estate Sale 1965. Mary Lyon founded Mount Holyoke College. Excellent condition. Inspected under UV light. a couple of very minor retouche spots. Some grime and yellowed varnish.
