Checkers gameboard with fan carved and painted slide top storage compartments.American, late 19th century. Carved playing field with black and red squares with sliding lid storage compartments on each end. Fans painted in blue, mustard, green. Original paint and condition. The board is carved out of a single piece of wood. The drawers are separate and the molding around the checkers is applied with some square and later added round nails.Inspected under UV light. 16 1/4" x 25 5/8".
