Unusual carved and painted folk art man figure. 19th century. The carving separates at the waste. By adding lit paper or an ember to the cavity in the lower body portion, smoke raises and comes out of the mouth. Excellent condition. Beautiful original polychrome paint, with an untouched painted surface. May have had a cigar in his mouth. H 10-1/4".
