Lot of four books relating to Natural History, Two volumes of souvenir pressed flower books from Israel. Oblong books, bound in olive wood covers. One book has the star of David inlaid. One book has a relief carving of a village skyline. Spines and rear covers on both are the same. Contents include pressed flowers from several significant locations in the Holyland. No date, but ca. 1900. One book is in very good condition. The second is in good condition (lacing 1/2 of the spine leather and front free endpaper is detached). H 4-1/2" W 6-1/2". Outline drawings of Birds. By Louis Agassiz Fuertes. The Comstock Publishing Co. Ithaca, NY 1926. Housed in a blue oak tag chemise with a Cardinal on the cover, including one Loose Leaf Field and Camp Notebook (unused) and 74 (of 75) loose b/w bird illustrations. Five have been colored by a young artist, the rest are untouched. H 7" W 4".  Very good condition. Richard H. Pough Audubon Bird Guide Eastern Land Birds. Doubleday & Co. New York. 1946. First Edition. Softbound in black pebble cloth. H 7-1/2" W 4-1/2". Very Good condition.

New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping. 
All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items.  Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.   
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.

All purchases must be picked up from our location within 14 days, no exceptions. Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.

 


Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
