Edith Sitwell (1887-1964) English poet and critic. 5 signed blank pages, and 1 ALS dated 15 September 1958. She is angry and agitated that the 4000 sheets being sent for her to sign have not arrived, and now she has learned there are 5000! Letter is 3 pp on 2 sheets. Signed pages H 9-1/4" W 6". Letter H 9" W 7". Condition: Signed sheets are in excellent condition. The letter has some folds and creases, and a very slight tear to the top right of both pages, just touching ink on page 2. Sacheverell Sitwell (1897-1988) English writer and art critic. Eight page autograph manuscript (legal folio) no date. Apparently part of an article, the focus here is a defense of his literary efforts through the years. Revisions and corrections throughout. There is also a carbon copy of a 12 line poem entitled St. Barnabas, Oxford, with one correction made in his hand. 8 pp ms H 12-3/4" W 8". Poem H 5" W 6". Condition: 8 pp ms is in very good used condition. There are paper clip stains at top and bottom left. There is some light foxing at the bottom edge of the first 2 pp. The whole has been scissor cut at the left margin, long ago. A real working copy. The 12 line poem is fine, with some minor folds and edge tears. Link for high-res images: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ryvelsh20vlwz1lsj4u54/h?rlkey=fgtnzkns2194rion0dziyoo6z&dl=0
